Non-Flash Player

Have you at anytime entertained the idea of using a non-Flash player? Or at least giving the option to support a Javascript or HTML5/CSS3 player? A good example is the player that Yootheme ( www.yootheme.com ) offers in its WidgetKit ( www.yootheme.com/widgetkit/examples/media-player ) ...

The reason for the request is that there are a lot of Apple devices out there that do not support Flash and it would be nice to have an option to allow them to play sermons back too.

The player we use as default player (JW Player) will fallback to a HTML5 player, so it should work on Apple devices.

BTW: The problem with HTML5 players is that there is no standard in which file formats are supported by HTML5. Some browsers support mp3, others don't but support other formats. There is not a single file format that is supported by all bigger browsers. The only reliable way is to have each file offered in at least two formats - or use Flash.

Thanks for the quick reply Thomas. I have set the player to JW Player for our website, but it still does not seem to work on my iPhone.

Your page works with Internet Explorer and Chrome, but not with Safari and Firefox.
I guess the fileformat is not supported by those browsers. Not sure what Apple supports on their phone, I don't use their devices.

According to html5doctor.com/native-audio-in-the-browser/ and developer.apple.com/library/safari/#docu...cConsiderations.html Safari and iPhones should support mp3 formats.
Not sure why it doesn't work in your case.
