Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Nice example, I switched to that and made an override for it, but mine doesn't show the filters like yours. Is that a custom thing you did?

The filters can be enabled in the SermonSpeaker options. It is called "Filter Field" in the "Global" register.

Nice. Perhaps in the next version allow the filters to be enabled / disabled per template view, in some views it doesn't make a lot of sense, eg. single series, so I'd need to create a template override just to remove the filters.
How do you reckon the oceandrive church did that topics drop-down, it that tags presented differently you think?

That's a good idea. I can add it easily to the menuitem parameter. So you can create a menuitem for eg series and disable the filter there.

With SermonSpeaker I would use tags instead of Topics. This works across all content on your site and can also be nested. But as Tags are a service by Joomla and not SermonSpeaker specific, you'd get a different view.
I can have a look if tags could be added to the filter bar. I think it should be possible to do, but may need some code adjustments.

That church uses Wordpress and thus certainly not SermonSpeaker. It may be that the plugin they use has a Topic as well as a Series field you can fill. How do you reckon the oceandrive church did that topics drop-down, it that tags presented differently you think?

I didn't pick that up, wordpress certainly has a lot of sermon plugins, pity it sucks as a CMS
That would be a nice addition having tags as a drop-down filter though and could reserve the category field for more universal use into the future.
