Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.
it was a discussion about whether there is a bug in joomla about the menu items randomly changing the url from sometime in 2015. on the test site I have cache turned off and no problems and it was odd that only the sermon speaker menu item was doing it. I did a lot of searching for answers and trying to understand better how sef works in joomla core and also in extensions. so far so good and it was odd that it just started more recently so looking at raw access logs on server and etc helped too, indexing of site by search engines and indexing bots.
