Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

I logged on to the site as administrator, via the Joomla login screen and here is where I see Sermon Speaker control panel...

OK, I went back and changed the file names to all lowercase. and now the first file I uploaded is
A) downloadable
playable on the mp3 player
I noticed now that when you click on the list item to see the detailed view, the whole screen goes black and it starts playing...in other words, the details view seems to be gone.a
BUT, the other file I uploaded doesn't display on the page. It is a different category than the one that does display. How to adjust for showing all categories? It is like the category is hidden, or can't be displayed.
I added another sermon, but still only the first one added is showing on the page. I thought the extension is supposed to show all of them that are published?

The menu item you created for the sermons list has a category assigned. It will only show sermons of that category.
Now in the SermonSpeaker options, you can set it to show subcategories as well and also include items from subcategories.
If you now want to show sermons from different categories, you need to set the settings correctly and have a category structure where you can select the parent category of those you want to show.

Thanks! I will go take a look. I figured it was a setting somewhere.
A suggestion:
in the documentation for the extension, it should specify that mp3 files should be all lowercase.

As a general rule, you should never use spaces, uppercase characters and special characters in anything which ends up being in an URL. You just play on the safe side if you use all lowercase characters.
I am thinking about making a check in the sermon form itself to validate filenames and show a warning if there may be issues.
On the other hand: If you upload the file using the inbuilt uploader, the filename will be automatically made URL safe and lowercase.

I don't even know why it failed. In theory it should work. But I guess it depends on player, enviroment and other factors.A suggestion:

can you tell me what I need to change/adjust to get my view on an individual sermon back to the way it shows on post #4175 from this thread? I like the way that displays, but now, I'm seeing a full-screen version of the mp3 player when I click on a sermon from the list-view.
I'm not sure what I changed to make it that way...
