Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

It sounds more like Joomla or the browser / feed reader cached something.
If the sermon is deleted in SermonSpeaker, it will no longer be shown in any list, be it feed or not. It's just impossible because the data is deleted in the database and the lists are always created based on this database. Only exception is when Joomla or the Client caches the pages.
