Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

The upgrade did the trick, but now the images for download and the Player popup are gone

4.x is for Joomla 1.6
3.x is for Joomla 1.5

The download and popup buttons can be styled with the CSS classes "button" (for both) and "popup_btn" / "download_btn" (for the specifics).
What you see is the styling applied by the template.

Either change the CSS styling in the template (template.css) or change the language strings for the buttons so they fit again. How to change this is explained in the FAQ .
