sermons/series not found

I was doing a manual install because the install/upgrade failed.

What was the issue when installing/updating? And from which version are you updating?

For the database changes you can have a look at the files in /admin/sql/updates/mysql. There you got the SQL queries needed to update from a previous version.
In case you migrate from SermonSpeaker 3.x you may have to look at the migrate.sql file in the root of the zip file. It contains all needed SQL queries to update the database.
You only need to replace the "#__" part with your actual database prefix (eg "jos_") and then you can use those commands in phpMyAdmin.

The component would not install because of a permissions problem.

UPDATE: I got it working. You were right. Improper categorization. Once I got that all fixed everything is working fine.
