Sermon Downloads Not Working

I can tell you how SermonSpeaker will try to find the file.

1. Take the path from the database
2. Make sure there is a leading slash ('/') to this path
3. Add the Joomla root directory (as stored in the constant 'JPATH_ROOT') in front of the path
4. Check if the file exists with the Joomla function JFile::exists()

The last point is where it fails. Usually this is the case if the files are stored outside the Joomla directory. Looking at the path Andrei posted this may be the case, or at least the file is stored strange.

hmmmm, that's an old url. Is one url cached/saved for downloads and another generated dynamically for flash?

Nope, nothing is cached. Everything is taken directly from the database.

The problem was with the audio file url. I started off with Joomla in a sub folder (so all urls were prefixed with ../) and was only using Joomla for sermon speaker. I then moved Joomla to the root and used it across our site so the ../ was no longer needed. I removed the leading ../ and downloads are working now.

I'm still puzzled as to why the flash player worked...
