Support for SermonSpeaker 3.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 1.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 4.x, which is better anyway.

I've used Wordpress to do plenty of CMS functionality. And if I'm not mistaken, the 2012 Joomla updates are in part meant to bring it closer in line with the ease of use that WP has.

I think they look more at Drupal as their competitor. :-)

With Joomla 3.0 they will include the Twitter bootstrap. But I'm sure they also took ideas from Wordpress.
