As long as you don't uninstall SermonSpeaker, no data will be lost.
You can install SermonSpeaker over the existing SermonSpeaker installation. Joomla will detect the existing one and just copy all files again, but doesn't touch the data.

No your data is safe, no need to uninstall just install over the top.
But backups should always be a thing anyway of course.
