Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Hello Thomas!
First of all, thank you for adding tag filtering for the front end. I always thought that would be a nice to have enhancement.
My question is, is there a way to show the default info in the filter fields when no filtering is being used?? For example, displaying the - Select Tag -, - Select Book -, - Select Month -, etc.
Sorry if this is something basic or been asked before, I'm not very savvy in website manipulation.
My website:
www.threeheartschurch.org/index.php/sermons
Thank you and best regards,
Scott

That text is actually there, but your template applies some interesting CSS rules to each form field which has not the "form-control" class.
The rule applies some quite large paddings, which then moves the text out of sight

Oh, I see now. I have no idea why that much padding was there.
Thank you for your time and speedy response!
