How to tag series programmatically

Dear Thomas,

I want to tag, say, 100 series so that:
series 1 tag with tag 1
series 2 tag with tag 2
and so on to series 100.
I don't want to do that with UI. I see from Joomla tables that tagging items is quite a complicated process involving several _ucm_ tables.
How can I tag series programmatically, to reduce the manual work?

Doing it directly in the database tables is very much NOT recommended. As you saw it needs entries in several tables.

You could write a script which uses the SermonSpeaker series/serie model and add the tags this way. That wouldn't be that complicated but you need to know PHP and a bit of knowledge how a Joomla component works.

Simplest way is to use the UI, especially the "Batch" function in the series manager which lets you tag multiple series with the same tag.
