Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Trying to upload a new sermon and getting error...

Error #-200: HTTP Error.

I have tried various versions of PHP (As this started to happen after updating to version 7.x) but, on going back to versions 5.x, still get the problem etc.

There is plenty of space on the server (Unlimited actually). Latest version of Joomla.

I am also checking with my Hosts to see if there is any other issues.

Any ideas...?

Regards & Blessings
Ian

I'd first check the server error log and see if that reveals anything.

Hi, Thomas

The hosts first response is that the Upload may be trying to access the wrong location.

I have taken the folder address from FTP which results in...

/home/%username%/home/%username%/public_html/etc

Is this the correct target folder etc...?

I have FTP'd the mp3 to the correct folder successfully and the file appears in the box below the Upload Box.

Cheers
Ian

You only need to specify the relative folder from within your Joomla root directory. Not the full absolute path.
So if the location is www.yoursite.com/sermons , you only put "sermons" in that field.

Hi again.

Still getting this same error. Never had it before.

I have tried shorter and shorter versions of the same mp3 and found that up to 14 mins is fine, after that, it always fails- AT THE SAME PLACE.

It has been suggested that the encoding may be faulty...? The hosting company has suggested this as they have been able to upload several MPs using the Joomla Admin suite.

But I am wondering if there can be a fault or spike in the recording that would make it fail...?

Any help would be appreciated.

If it fails during upload, it's very likely that it is not related to the encoding. It could be file size which triggers a PHP upload limit. Or it may be a PHP memory limit or a timeout when it takes to long to upload. That all things which should show up in the PHP error log.
It may also be some Firewall settings or an Antivirus software running on the server which blocks the upload.
