Speaker List

Is it possible for the Speaker Module to sort filter speakers in the list by category or topic?

I'm not sure what exactly you mean. Do you mean the speaker list view. That one can be sorted by the user if you use the table layout. The the user can click on the table headers to sort the list.
The initial sorting is in the order that is set in backend.


The menuitem would allow some filtering. Eg only showing speakers of a given category.

I was hoping to do it in a module. That way I could place the people on a page that only pertains to one event. The event is a category or a topic.

Ah, the "SermonSpeaker Module" allows you to show a list of speakers, either sorted by title or by the ordering defined in backend.
An example can be seen on www.sermonspeaker.net/listings/sermons.html on the right bottom.
That list can also be filtered by a specified category.
