Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

direct linking sermonaudio? was created by B.Pohl
Hi,
I'm wondering what to do for a workaround on those church websites who have sermonaudio accounts. Some admins don't like the leg-work of uploading sermons twice (both to sermonaudio as well as sermonspeaker on their church website). I worry about the putting in a sermonaudio iframe to get around this, to embed the sermonspeaker sermon listing. My guess is that this will negatively impact Google SEO ranking.
Is there a way they could direct link a mp3 sermon file already uploaded in sermonaudio.com (so it can be used in sermnspeaker)? Or maybe another way around the negative SEO effects of embedding a 3rd party iframe in place of a local sermon listing (like sermonspeaker provides)?
Thanks!

I had a look at
www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=222151919482
which I think maybe one of your sermons. The download link requires a login, so that dowsn't work.
But if I use the player, there is a link to the file in the source code: mp3.sermonaudio.com/filearea/222151919482/222151919482.mp3
That one should work in SermonSpeaker.

Thanks so much Thomas! Looks like the link structure will work quite well...
I can't say how much I've appreciated your support for sermonspeaker...

Hmmm, I'm not sure that this is working...
Here's a sermon where I put the file link structure in from sermonaudio:
www.thereformedchurch.net/component/serm...at-we-sow?Itemid=101
It looks like the sermonaudio link triggers a proxy for the download... i.e. mp3.sermonaudio.com/filearea/422181939206/422181939206.mp3 downloads the sermon from media-proxy-4.sermonaudio.com .
I don't really understand what's going on, but does that mean it won't work?
Thanks!

Try prepending the file URL with "https://". Now it looks like it creates a relative link to your site and that fails.
The proxy should work I think, althought I never tried

Perfect, https:// at the beginning did the trick... Thanks so much again!
For anyone else wanting to use the same nomenclature/structure, here's an example that works in sermonspeaker:
(where 422181939206 is the id of the sermon on sermonaudio)
