Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

"No matching player found" - JW Player 7, plugin

Hi, I'm not sure what I might be doing wrong.

I have installed the plg_sermonspeaker_jwplayer7 plugin (as well as com_sermonspeaker)

Then I activated the plugin & entered the "JW Player 7 (Self-Hosted)" License Key (Found under Players-->Tools in my JWPlayer account).

I then selected "- Use Plugin -" in the Joomla Global Configuration -->SermonSpeaker-->Player at the top.

However, when I click on a sermon, the player displays "No matching player found" (using a popup window displays the same message)

Any suggestions where I might have gone wrong? Thanks!

Looks fine so far.
Does the player show in the sermon list view?
Do you have the icons layout selected for the sermon detailpage? That one requires the PixelOut player because the others just look wrong.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks again so very much for your reply. Indeed, yes, I had Icons selected for the single sermon view. I've changed that & it's all working now, thanks!
By the way, I love the layout improvements since 4.5, very nice!

Hi Thomas,

I thought to finally try dealing with the deprecated integrated player message.

Where I am now stuck is that I see this message displayed:
"Player needs JavaScript and Flash turned on"

I had to switch back to JW Player 6 in SS options for now until I get this worked out with you.

To get to this situation (I previously had JW Player 6 listed in the SS Options Player dropdown.

I downloaded plg_sermonspeaker_jwplayer7 from your site and installed it, and then from jwplayer.com tools obtained and installed the license key that I got from my JW Player account.

One thing that I didn't understand from the instructions on jwplayer.com was where to add this code snippet:
<script src="//mywebsite.com/jwplayer/jwplayer.js"></script>
<script>jwplayer.key="ABCdeFG123456SeVenABCdeFG123456SeVen==";</script>

Anyhow, I set the player dropdown to -- Use Plugin -- and when I refreshed the sermons list page I saw the notice that player needs JS and Flash to be turned on.

I have confirmed that JW Player 7 is enabled and set up (although it does not show in the player dropdown list in SS Options). I even uninstalled JW Player 5 and 6 (even though they still show in the player dropdown list).

I have played with the single sermon setting (Icon is really interesting - but I currently left it at Extended New Line).

Suggestions at this point?

Thank you.
Sermonspeaker has served our church for a number of years now - well done.

Bob

The plugin players will not show in the dropdown list in the SermonSpeaker options. The ones you see listed there are the integrated ones (which will be removed with SermonSpeaker 6). You just have to set it to "- Use Plugin -" and it will try to load the player(s) from the plugin(s).

You don't need to add any code to your site. SermonSpeaker does this all for you. You only need to enter the license key into the plugin options as you did.

The message you see indicates that there is some JavaScript error on the site. The browser console would show you that.
