Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

I was hoping to be able to determine top 10 sermons overall, and top 10 sermons withing a date range. I realize that there is a hit count. I thought maybe I could export this to excel and get my metrics from there. However, there was no way to easily do this. Is this being considered for future enhancement? What are other users doing?

In the tools section, there is a "Statistics" button. This will give you an xml export of the hit counts. You can save this output as a file and import it easy into Excel. There is no date though there.
If you need more detailed statistics, you will have to set up Google Analytics or a server based statistic tool to get more accurate data.
