Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

In 5.5.2 release notes you said:
Fixing a fatal error when accessing SermonSpeaker without a valid Itemid (eg using /component/sermonspeaker)
Would you tell me how can I reproduce the fatal error in previous releases? So that I can see the difference.

What I wrote in the announcement :)
Either use "/component/sermonspeaker" or use "/index.php?option=com_sermonspeaker". Both are URLs which access SermonSpeaker without any active menu item. First one is the SEF URL and second one the non-SEF one.
It will only happen with the 5.5.1 release if I remember right.
