Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

upgraded to sermon speaker 5.4.6 as player shows pop up for each sermon but doesn't play or load message - have uploaded and installed jwplayer 7 also - what settings should i be using for options - layouts and options =player and am i missing something else?

This smells like a JavaScript error/conflict.
Looking at your site, I see the template loads its own jQuery version (v1.4.4), which is older than the one shipped with Joomla (v1.11.1). That would be my first guess as the source of your issues.
