Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

The pixelout player is not mobile friendly. How can we fix this? Can you solve this to change the CSS class: ss-player ?

That's actually the HTML5 fallback player which is used in case Flash isn't available.
You should be able to style that one as well using CSS. It's a simple <audio> tag which can be targeted using the class of the surrounding container.

Then I'd suggest you use another player and layout. The icon layout and PixelOut player are the worst choice in regards to responsive.
You can try, but I doubt you will get nice results with that combination.
