Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.
I can not install sermonspeaker. I always get the following error. Even when I try to install from "Install from Folder" The directory permissions are good. Also installing older versions fails. Maybe an issue with Joomla 3.4.4?

This looks more like Joomla thinks you have already installed SermonSpeaker and it tries to update instead of installing it.
Make sure you don't have a messed up installation already present. If so, uninstall it first.
