Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Maybe I'm missing something very obvious, but I'm not seeing how to allow downloads.

The user can see a player, and listen online. But how do I allow the user to download the mp3 file?

I saw a Download Audio button mentioned in another forum post. How do I make that show up?

Have a look at the SermonSpeaker options. Activate the "Columns" tab and check the "Download" box for the views you want to have a download button.

Depending on the layout, it may be a button or part of the action menu (where you can choose print, edit, ...)
