Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Date Driven Publishing possible?

Hi there,

since a few weeks we use sermonspeaker. Iw works fine. Thanks for the good job!
But now we have a very important question: How can I use date driven publishing?

By default, Joomla (2.5) uses an optional date driven publishing system for every type of content. But on sermons I miss such an option. Or I didn't see it?

Please help! How can I set our sermons, so that they will be published at a specific date?

Ciao,
Tom

You mean that you can set a publish time in the future?
That's not possible with SermonSpeaker.

Hi Thomas,

You mean that you can set a publish time in the future?

yes, exactly.

That's not possible with SermonSpeaker.

Hm. That's bad. Maybe it is an idea for an update.

What is the use case?
Usually, a church wants to publish the recorded sermon as soon as possible. Why do you want to delay it?

It's easy: We have a lot of sermons - recorded a long time before. Now, we want to publish it - step by step. In the actual case, we have to log in and write the sermon-article on every day - manually - when we wish to publish it. This is uncomfortable. ;)

It would be much better if we could work - maybe "one day" - and set up our website with a dozen of sermons. Then our website could publish it on several days - automatically. It's "only" a time problem we have. Too much work for too less people. :S

Cheers,
Tom

So it's a quite situational use case.

To code that feature it would be quite some work and complicate the database queries and code a lot.
I don't think it justifies the work and potential bugs.
