Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

I've loaded 4 .mp4 videos via Amazon to my S3 bucket and can play all 4 using a connection string in SermonSpeaker Sermon Video file field.
However, I can not upload from either the back end nor the front end from SermonSpeaker.

On the back end it indicated an uploading progress bar then fails with the message "COM_SERMONSPEAKER_FU_ERROR_UNABLE_TO_UPLOAD_FILE:"

On the front end I get only "403 You are not authorised to view this resource." even when logged in as Administrator.

As I can get and play the videos directly loaded to S3 I'm assuming my S3 settings are correct.

If you need additional information I'll be glad to share log-in information with you privately.

The videos will play even without proper S3 settings in the SermonSpeaker options.
Those settings are only used to populate the videofile dropdown list in the sermon edit form and to upload the file to S3.

During upload, it may fail at several stages. First the file is uploaded from your computer to your server. It may fail here already if the file is to big or the uploading takes to long. Your server log would show you the cause of the error here as it usually is a fatal error then.
If that part is successful, SermonSpeaker takes over and tries to upload the temporary stored file to Amazon S3. Here something may go wrong again. First thing to check would again be the server error log. Due to the nature of the request it may well be that the script times out. You would have to ask your hoster to raise the script execution limits.

SermonSpeaker adds default URL to my S3 bucket
"File will be uploaded to: http://s3-.amazonaws.com/CCD-CalvaryBFLessons/2014-03-02/Lesson+videos/"

Note A dash "s3-." is automatically added to the Generated URL

Resulting error message:
"Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at s3-.amazonaws.com."

An example of the link from S# video uploaded directly into Amazon S3:
s3.amazonaws.com/CCD-CalvaryBFLessons/20...ideos/2014-03-23.mp4

The latter does play if it is accessed via our website as on S3 its status is Private.

The prefix should depend on the region of the S3 server. Only US Standard servers have s3.amazonaws.com, all other servers have the region as part of the URL, like "s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com".
SermonSpeaker uses a library to check the buckets region and apply it to the URL. But looks like that check misses somehow. It may be that the function now returns an empty string instead of the expected "US" in your case.
