Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Drop down path in Backend for sermon uploads... was created by William Osborn
In our old 1.5 Jommla production sites, with the 1.5 version of Sermon Speaker, we uploaded the sermons in different subdirectories that corresponded with the different Series, e.g teachings/Mark, teachings/Ephesians..and, using the drop-down in the Add sermon page, you could scroll down through all the subdirectories and select the sermon (which had been uploaded via FTP or Media manager, etc).
However, it appears that in the 4.5.4 version of SS, you can only access the main folder in the drop-down, that was set in the Options. I know that we can change the path in the Options, but many of our churches are teaching through two different series each week (One on Sunday, another on the midweek service). If it was one series per week, it would be no big deal to change the folder path in the options, at the end of a series..
So it seems that we need to upload all of the studies into one directory, regardless of the series, otherwise we would be changing the path twice weekly in the options..
I know that SS will keep track of them via the series or category function, but from a file management perspective, it was nice having each series in its own separate folder on the server, rather than having them mixed together..
Your thoughts?

That's correct. In old SermonSpeaker versions, the dropdown was populated with all subdirectories. This had two drawbacks. One was for churches with many years of sermons, the list became endless. The other was that I had to work around the way Joomlas file management functions work.
So I decided some time ago to only show the current folder in the dropdown list.
Now SermonSpeaker has some built-in functions to help with file organizing. Maybe you noticed the two parameters "Monthly subdirectories" and "Language subdirectories" below the path setting. If you enable these, SermonSpeaker will look if the matching subdirectory exists and lists the files in this folder instead of the main path. For new sermons, it's based on the current date and language. For existing sermons (editing) it's based on the sermon date and language.
When uploading the sermon through SermonSpeaker, the folder will automatically be created.
So the easiest for you is if you change how you organize your files. Instead of organizing in series subfolders, store them into year/month subfolders (eg 2013/06). SermonSpeaker will then offer you the correct files in the list.
Subfolders by series name doesn't work well because when the sermon is created, SermonSpeaker doesn't know the series name yet and can't guess a proper folder to look for.
