Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

On the page that lists the sermons by speaker it would be great if we could make the most recent first easily by default. The new search/filter is great over all. But most users want the most recent sermons.

By default all lists are sorted by the sermon order, which can be set in the backend.
The default ordering can also be set to date or title, ascending or descending.
Or does this not work for this view?
