Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

I have SermonsSpeaker 4.1 and I've setup a Menu Item of "List Sermons per Month (Archive)". When I click on any of the messages on that page I would like the alternate player "1PixelOut" to play the messages. Currently, the browser's default player is playing the message. In backend administation of my Joomla 1.6 site under "Components > SermonsSpeaker > Options" I have the "Alternate Player" radio button set to "Yes". I had this working on a previous version of SermonsSpeaker so I'm unsure as to why it's not working here. Any possible ideas as to what I'm missing? :oops:

I've tried it in Chrome, Mozilla, and IE with the same results.

The alternate player only works for single files and mp3. That means on listings there will always be the default player (JW Player). It should however work on the detailpage.
