Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

As I'm migrating over 6 years of sermons into Sermon Speaker, I began to wonder if I could automate the process of uploading each sermon. Is there a way to create a new sermon through a POST request?

?path=MYPATH&speaker=JohnDoe&scripture=John1:3

Or even a request with JSON data?

I'm just looking for a way to automatically upload sermons with all the data they need as ID3 tags cannot hold all the info needed.

There is no API like that, mainly for security reasons.
The form you see to edit the sermon has a hidden token which ensures the data is indeed coming from the same browser that requested the form.
