Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

Hello,

I've got the same problem sorting by scripture as in this post:

The solution doesn't seem to work for v4.

How can I get sorting by scripture/passage to take into account chapter and verse?

I think it should be possible with SermonSpeaker 4.4 and higher, but only if you didn't use the "free text" field to enter the scripture. Those filled in using the book/chapter/verse fields should work.

Do you get an error message?

There's no error. The problem is that the sort doesn't take into account chapter and verse. This is the same problem as on the thread I linked to. The solution you provided there doesn't seem to work with version 4.

It does work! I'd misunderstood the change you'd made. I thought you were tweaking an existing sort function, but when I looked at the change on github I see that all you had done was add some lines to the sermons.php file.
