Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

I've started testing SermonSpeaker and so far it's pretty cool, but I have had a problem with the lack of documentation.

One thing I'm working on. I have added several sermons to my test site and tried searching for keywords using my sites search function, but none of the sermons show up. Can I get the sermons to be searchable along with the rest of the site and if so how?

Did you install and enable the search plugin for SermonSpeaker? See www.sermonspeaker.net/download/plugin-search.html

This one will search for sermon title, notes and scripture books, series title and description and speaker name, intro and bio.
However it will not search for keywords, as they are meant for the meta tags on a page.
