Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

Can't upload was created by Mark Landry
Hi,
In the admin area of ss I get the following error when trying to upload:
"com_sermonspeaker_fu_error_unable_to_upload_file"
If I try to upload via front-end I get:
"Warning: Failed to move file!
The file cannot be uploaded"

This worked several weeks ago and suddenly stopped.
I'm testing with a 1.75MB file, FTP is off, and I can upload images via the media manager, and install components via the joomla install manager.

Thanx for your help.

Mark

This error is shown when the file for whatever reason couldn't be moved to the correct destination. That means the upload itself works fine, but the server can't put the uploaded file (which is in a temporary directory) to the final destination.

Now usually this is due to some permission issues. If the server can't write to the directory for example. Maybe also check the server (apache) error log if any errors are logged.

There's nothing in the error logs.
If The system's not having problem installing components, why is the file moving problem only happening in sermon speaker?

Found the problem.
I installed RS Firewall a couple of weeks ago. Uninstalled it and all is working fine now.
Any thoughts on how to get RS Firewall and Sermon Speaker to work together?

oh that's easy :) check forbidden file types i believe mp3 is in there. also when you upload mp3 make sure there are no files like. test.sermon.mp3 due to 2 periods it might think it's a file with multiple extensions.

yep, that did it. That's what I get for installing a big component and not checking things :)
Thanx!
