Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

Yeah, no problems. I'd be happy to share the template. The site is built on bootstrap so there's a few css classes in there.

I have added it as a layout "horizontal". I removed some unneeded things and made it work with Bootstrap 2.3 (Joomla default one) instead of Bootstrap 3 you used.
I also added a way to automatically detect a matching SermonSpeaker menu item. You had it hardcoded in the layout.

Result is this:
