Support for SermonSpeaker 3.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 1.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 4.x, which is better anyway.

The Sermon notes are being chopped off on teh right hand side of IE - all other browsers seem to be okay.

i.e. www.hopechurchgrange.org.uk/index.php/se...ding-the-trinty.html

Do you think this is a component problem or a template problem?

It may be both ;)
It's no issue in IE9, so it's a bug in IE8.

You can play around with the CSS sytling for ss-sermondetail-container and ss-sermondetail-text in /components/com_sermonspeaker/sermonspeaker.css
When I tried it with the compatibility mode of IE9 I could fix it by setting margin-left for the container to 0. By default it's margin:15px.
