Support for SermonSpeaker 3.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 1.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 4.x, which is better anyway.

Getting Errors when Editting or adding series... was created by Tweed
I just updated from 3.3.1 to 3.4.2. I followed the instructions, but when I try to add a new series or edit an existing one, I get this type of error.
I'm sorry, I'm a Noob and this is probably a quick fix, But I don't know where to start.
The website is www.friendschurchonline.com

Did you set and saved the SermonSpeaker parameters (Button on the upper right corner)?
The error just says that the path for avatars set in the parameters is not a valid folder

Thanks for your quick reply!
I did set the locations in the parameters as follows:
Path to sermons = /public_html/components/com_sermonspeaker/media
Path to avatars = /public_html/components/com_sermonspeaker/media/avatars
Path to add files = images (I left as this one was)
Should I move the avatars directory out of the directory I have the mp3's stored?

I just noticed that the location I have my media stored is not within the administrator directory:
/public_html/administrator/components/com_sermonspeaker
Should I move my file storage directories? This would then require me to go through each message and series and relocate to files correct?

You should enter the path relative to the Joomla root folder. That would mean "components/com_sermonspeaker/media"
I recommend putting all the files outside the SermonSpeaker folder. Reason for this is when you uninstall SermonSpeaker, Joomla will delete the whole folder. And all your sermons would be lost...
So I recommend a folder like images/sermons.
Another point is that the Joomla Media Manager defaults to the folder "images", and it will allow you to upload files to this folder (and subfolders).
If you want to move your files, you'll have to update all the paths in the database. This could be done with an SQL dump of the table and search/replace with an extern editor and then reimport.

Thanks that worked. I just removed the "/public_html" from the paths and that fixed the errors.
Regarding moving the files...I believe my files are not within the sermon speaker folder, so I think all is good.
Thanks for a great tool for ministry!
