Support for SermonSpeaker 3.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 1.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 4.x, which is better anyway.

Hmm, looks ok for me. I can't see a major difference between Firefox and IE8.
You refer to the site template footer (copyright, login and such things)? This is showing for me.

hum, you are right, on my work pc its looking good, my home pc, IE browser must be bugged.
