Support for SermonSpeaker 3.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 1.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 4.x, which is better anyway.

You can set an access level for the detailpage. Then users can see the list, but have to log in to see the details. This is the closest possible.
It wouldn't even make much sense to only restrict the download. As soon as a Flash player is shown, the file URL is visible for those who can read the source code of the page.

I'll just have to add that this feature isn't tested very much. It could well be that a person with knowledge of SermonSpeaker could access the files even if the detailpage is restricted.
