Support for SermonSpeaker 3.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 1.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 4.x, which is better anyway.

We have a link to Sermon Series. My pastor would like me to be able to present the current series first (not in alphabetical order as is now), and when looking at the list in a series, see the latest sermon first (opposite of what is now).

Is this possible?

In SermonSpeaker 3.4.3 the series list is ordered by ordering and not by alphabet, so you can specify in the backend in which order the series will be shown, also the sermons are ordered by date descending, so the latest sermons are on top.

I'm not sure what version of SermonSpeaker you use, but maybe upgrading solves your problem?

In SermonSpeaker 3.4.3 there isn't such an option. It is hard coded to sort like this.
In SermonSpeaker 4.1 it will have this option, but it isn't released yet
