Remove Sermon ID from URL was created by Ken Lee
Dear Thomas,
For some time I wanted URLs to sermon but without the ID. e.g. http://mysite/menuitem/sermon/sermonalias
I find that come core components have this feature as per
github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/11320
Would you consider doing that to SermonSpeaker?
Thank you for consideration.

For the moment, no. It would mean I have to completely rewrite the routing and the URLs would change massively. Eg you can't have "http://mysite/menuitem/sermon/sermonalias", you would ideally get "http://mysite/menuitem/category/subcategiry/sermonalias" (requiring the menuitem is for sermons).
The new routing mode for articles also isn't backward compatible. Links that used to work fine may be broken once you activate that new feature. And com_content is a simple component since there is only one item type. For SermonSpeaker we have to deal with 3 different item types which makes it more complex.
Maybe I have to look at it for Joomla 4, but for the time being I don't have plans to add that mode.
