yes tried by category too. Yes I could do it in the database but that is going to make it really tough for the church to do. But maybe I am not saying the right thing. I was thinking that sorting the series on the backend would change the display order on the front end? if there is another way to change the sort order on the front end that would be fine.

A bit late to the party, but I had the same experience of Mike. I found that clearing my cookies for the site then returned to expected sorting on the public side. Probably a bug in Joomla4 I'd say.
