I updated my site to 6 and sermons were working fine.  I updated sermonspeaker to 7 and I can see the sermons and categories on the back end correctly, but on the front end I am getting the error "Sorry, unfortunately I didn't find any Sermons"

They seem to work if I create a direct link to the category.  It seems like it could be incorrect URLs in the category table.

List of categories:
akvcoc.com/audio/sermons

Broken URL from list:
akvcoc.com/resources/serie/10031-sermons-2025

Working URL:
akvcoc.com/audio/sermons-2026

Most likely, you need to check the categories of your sermons, series and speakers.
The categories are used to determine if a sermon is allowed to be viewed by the visitor. If any of the three (series, sermon and speaker) categories is not public or is invalid, then the sermon isn't shown.

All of sermons have a category and a series. I have been using this since Joomla 3.

They all worked correctly before updating to Sermon Speaker 7. I updated the component all at once. I noticed on one of the help posts you mentioned that can cause issues.

For example this page is my series list page akvcoc.com/audio/sermons ,  if you look at the series URL for Sermons - 2026 for Sermons - 2025 makes they are very different.

The URL may be related to a different menu structure. Eg you may have a specific menuitem for the 2026 sermons and none for the 2025 ones.
Menus also can have an impact on the permission issue.

I mentioned the categories because that is one thing that changed over the various SermonSpeaker versions. SermonSpeaker used to have one type of categories for sermons, series and speakers. Eventually I split that up in specific categories for sermons, series and speakers. So make sure, you have a sermons categorie for the sermons, a series category for the series and a speakers category for the speakers.
You may have to check the individual item to be sure, the list may be misleading (it just looks up the category name, not if the type matches).

I guess I am not understanding.  Are you referring to a change you made in version 7?  I have over 1000 posted sermons all assigned to categories. They all worked normally this morning on version 6.
I updated to version 7 (I did it all at once), and I got an error that the player couldn't update, so I updated that manually.  Then after updating to 7, when I go to my list of series and click on a series, it says there is no sermons.

However, when I make a direct link to the series on my menu, the sermons appear. the only difference "seems" to be the URL.

For example on my series list page, when I click on Sermons - 2025 it uses the URL  akvcoc.com/resources/serie/10031-sermons-2025  this does not show the sermons.
but when I go into Joomla, and create a menu link pointing to the series Sermons - 2025 and then go back into the series list page and click on Sermons - 2025 it goes to  akvcoc.com/audio/sermons-2025 this does show the sermons.  When I disable that menu entry to the series the URL reverts back to the broken one.

I am not sure if something needs to be refreshed,
or edited and saved again.
or if there is some new config in sermon speaker 7 that I am missing.
or if something is corrupt in the database. You mentioned on the update thread

Don't update all SermonSpeaker extensions at once. Start with the component and do the modules and plugins afterwards one after eachother. Joomla for some reason gets a hickup if you do all in one go.

I did not see this before I did my update in one go, so am not sure if something needs repaired or reinstalled.

I really don't want to have to re-enter all of my sermons again.
I appreciate what you do and your help.

The change to the categories was done in an earlier version, not with SermonSpeaker 7. But Joomla 6 did change a lot under the hood, so it may still have played a role.

It certainly doesn't have anything to do with your "all at once" update. That would have given you a different error if something went wrong there.

I think it may have to do with the menuitems and how Joomla/SermonSpeaker generates the URLs. Can you tell me what menu structure you have (only the SermonSpeaker menuitems). I can try to reproduce it then on my test enviroment and see if I can find the issue.
