Restrict file uploads to Speaker folders?

Firstly, thank you for such a generous contribution to Joomla 4. I'd like to know if file paths can be set so that a users uploaded files can reside in their own specific folder. I know that TinyMCE for J4 can accomplish this but cannot see how it's done in SermonSpeaker. Is this possible?

Many thanks.

Currently not. You can adjust the folder by month and language.
This could certainly be exanded with a user part. That should not be complicate.

What is the use case and what folder structure would you expect?
Also the question would be what part of the user detail you want to use. Probably only the ID is save to be used as the name can change and the login name would be a security concern.

Hello Thomas, thanks for your quick response.

The site I'm developing is community driven (Jomsocial). Members can write and create podcast content which will be displayed on their profile page and shared on the activity stream.
With a growing membership it will be vital to ensure access to files on a member only basis to prevent shared folders becoming unwieldy. Many users may also prefer not to have their personal files accessible to other members.

So yes, folders created by user ID would be perfect.

Many thanks for your consideration.

I've added the possibility to add user-id based subdirectories.
It would be great when you can try it if it works for you. I've attached the current development version, you can just install it over your existing one and it will update accordingly.

File Name: com_sermon...3-02.zip
File Size:2,578 KB

If that works for you, I will release a new version soon.

Wow, that's excellent! I'm actually going into hospital for a small operation today so it may be a few days before I can test this, I'll let you know as soon as I have.
Thank you so much for taking my request seriously and responding so quickly.
