Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

beginner's question - upload module

Please forgive me if I'm missing something easy, but I can't figure out why frontend upload module won't display, and would be grateful for help:

Module details: published in position "testposition" Module permissions set to and calculated as 'allowed' for usergroup which I have named admin-sermons. Module set to upload files of type 'audio' and set to display on all pages

Article details: An article including {loadposition testposition} and some text. The text display correctly frontend but module does not load.

Sermonspeaker options: permissions: usergroup admin-sermons has ability to 'create'
editing: enable frontend editing set to 'yes' flash and html uploaders enabled also both 'yes'

I have checked spelling carefully, I have created another module and gone through the whole process again just in case.

I must be missing something, but am stumped and can't think what to try next.
Thank you for any help

The permissions set in the module itself are for editing the module, not for uploading. They come from the Joomla Module Manager itself.
You need to set the permissions within the SermonSpeaker component options and make sure the users are allowed to "create".

Thank you for replying, and so quickly.

I believe that my settings are correct - see screenshot.
This is why I'm mystified about what I've missed.
I even tried logging in as superuser to front of site, thinking to check if it was a permissions problem, but module still does not display.

Would be grateful to hear your further thoughts.

It surely is a very helpful component I meant to say. Am switching over from bible study manager which I had used on previous site.

Can you do a quick test and assign the same module to an existing template position? Just to check if it is an issue with the module and the permissions or with the "load module" plugin or its plugin code in the article. The we know where to search :)

Good idea.

No the module does not show when I publish to known good template positions.

Am signing off for the evening but will check back tomorrow.

Thank you again
