Support for SermonSpeaker 5.x is in bugfix mode only, the same as it is for Joomla 3.10.
I will not add any new features to this releases.
Please upgrade to SermonSpeaker 6.x and Joomla 4.x, which is better anyway.

Video player only plays audio was created by Othniel Hinckson
Howdy,
Having an issue playing video that is stored on our server. It plays the audio of .mp4 files but that is all. I am using JW player is there a selection or a toggle that i am not seeing?
Thank you sir!

There is an option which allows to set a priority for the player in case both an audio and videofile is present. You can also set if a "toggle" button should be shown so the user can switch between audio and video files.
In the menu item, you can aditionally force SermonSpeaker to only show audio or video files.
Also, the player makes some checks if he is able to play the file based on the file extension. It may be that JW Player doesn't support your video.
If you can provide an URL to your site, I may have a look at it.

Sure. I guess that's what I am trying to figure out as well. Which video format it supports. It is doing some weird things like when i load video files with different formats into my ftp folder they won't show up as a selection in the back end.
Here is the Link: tofoursquare.org/index.php/resources-video
If you click on weeks 1 and 2 it will show the issue I am having. I would like to not use YouTube so that they can download the videos and podcast them.

The mp4 one should work. However since it is over 200MB big it may take a while to load by the player.
Wmv is supported by SermonSpeaker, but not by JW Player. It's a proprietary Windows format and thus it needs the JW WMV Player for it.
SermonSpeaker will automatically try to load the correct player in a single sermon view. But it can't do that in a list view. Here it takes what you selected in the backend.
Also if the file doesn't show up in the selection, it's probably not supported

Got it. That was some great input. I have changed the view so that it can pick the correct player and it worked beautifully.
Now I am having a separate issue. When the player opens in another window, it opens in a different area of the website under "Sermon Podcast," instead of "Resources Video." So to get back to the selection you have to navigate back to that area instead of using the side menu.
I am sure that I just am not configuring it properly. Your wisdom in this would be paramount.
Thank you for all that you do.
