Support for SermonSpeaker 4.x is canceled as it is for Joomla 2.5. I will gladly assist you with minor issues but I will not fix any bugs anymore in this releases.
The fix is to upgrade to SermonSpeaker 5.x and Joomla 3.x, which is better anyway.

Sermon Download - local path and url was created by Sean Dickinson
Hi
When i reference a sermon using a local path in the audiopath field /images/audio/sermons/sermon.mp3 the file download button works as expected in that it starts a download (tried several browsers, mac & pc). When using an external url in the same field the player works fine but the sermon download opens up either a web page to start playing the file or an external player.
Any advice?
Thanks

No advise. Working as intended.
The reason is quite simple: By default a browser will open and play an mp3 file, depending on the browser settings. To have it offered as a download the server needs to read the file and deliver it to the browser as kind of an attachment. But the server can only read files that are stored locally, he can't read files on other servers. The download button thus makes a check if the file is local or extern. If it's local it will be offered as a download and the real path is hidden. If it's extern, it will be a simple link to the file and the browser will do with it whatever he likes.

are there any work around about this issue !
I know it is not a component issue... is it possible if I do configure my local domain ex: xyz.com
so I add a subdomain add-on in the remote server ex: cdn.xyz.com
shall it work !?

No, it depends on the server. The domain doesn't matter.
Apache needs physical access to the file in order to manipulate everything.

Thanks a lot.
