how to hide sermon category appearing in front end

how to hide sermon category and subcategory entries appearing in front end?
[towards the end of page]

Go to the SermonSpeaker options, Category tab. There you can set if subcategories are shown. In the columns tab you can set if the category should show in the list.

I had set all [in there] as hide, that's when the count disappeared [as seen in earlier snapshot] but the entries/description remained as is..

You should be able to post a picture, if the picture isn't to big. I think the limit is around 150kB.

Which layouts are you using and which view are you talking about?
The stuff in the options -> category tab is what controls the appearance of the category. And there is a category checkbox in the columns tab.

Have taken snapshot of 4 tabs [in options screen].
Hope it helps.
