Today the newest versions of SermonSpeaker for Joomla 1.5 and 1.6 have released

Sermonspeaker 4.0
SermonSpeaker 4.0 is developped to run under Joomla 1.6. It will not run under Joomla 1.5.

New Features
  • Newest release of JW Player included.
  • Supports now HTML5 as fallback for devices without Flash (hint: iPhone/iPad)
  • Support for alias for sermons, speakers and series
  • Support for Meta keywords and descriptions for sermons, speakers and series
  • Redesigned Backendlayouts, full support of new ACL
  • Supports automatic updatefunction of Joomla 1.6
  • Columns can be selected indivually for each sermon listing if they show or not
  • Working access levels for categories
  • SermonCast module supports now multiple podcasts (based on menu items)
  • Restricted Feeds are now possible, the credentials need to be passed in the URL with &username=abcd&password=1234. SermonSpeaker tries then to log in the user and checks the rights of the menuentry, category and also checks the parameter "Access Detailview"
  • Frontendupload now only avaiable for defined user groups (group needs the 'create' action allowed), supports new ACL of J1.6
  • If no addfile description is set, the filename will be displayed instead
  • Added an option to the sermons listing view to limit the shown sermons. Allows to build a "latest sermons" view
  • The "Plugin Button" can now be customized in the parameter which tags it should insert in the scripture reference field. For example let's you specify a bible translation
  • Some modules have a new parameter "menu item". This allows to specify which menu entry will be activated (and its settings applied) when a link from the module is clicked. This is mainly used for SEF reasons, but also allows some other customization, like multiple SermonCast modules which point to different named feeds
Included Languages
  • English (en-GB)
  • German (de-DE)
  • Dutch (nl-NL), thanks to Christian van Bruggen
  • Chinese simple and traditional (zh-CN and zh-TW), thanks to Thomas Hang
  • Russian (ru-RU) is currently incomplete, but the translation will be available soon, thanks to Andrei Chernyshev. I will publish a small maintenance release if that happens
  • Spanish (es-ES) and Portuguese (pt-BR) are incomplete, they're just taken over from SermonSpeaker 3.4.2 and probably need a revision
Migrate from SermonSpeaker 3.4.2 or 3.4.3 (Joomla 1.5)
  1. Install SermonSpeaker 4.0
  2. Copy the SermonSpeaker tables (usually jos_sermon_sermons, jos_sermon_speakers, jos_sermon_series) from your Joomla 1.5 database into your Joomla 1.6 database
  3. Install SermonSpeaker 4.0 again. This time it will check the existing tables and make the needed changes
Warning
Unlike previous versions SermonSpeaker 4.0 will delete all SermonSpeaker database tables on first install and uninstall. This is needed for a clean uninstall and is Joomla standard. It also makes it easier for future updates to take care of database changes.

SermonSpeaker 3.4.3
SermonSpeaker 3.4.3 is mainly a maintenance release. It includes all language packs available till release and some minor bugfixes.

New Features
